OLD GROUNDS AUG 19

the last old grounds trip of 2009 was on august 19. when we left the dock at 4am we were watching a spectacular light show off to the south and east, what a view. as we arrived on the fishing grounds it was calm seas and the drift was perfect. the group of bob jefferies bagged some nice fluke to fill their box with . clayton and mrs. clayton caught themselves some fine fish as well. i am still waiting to hear the story from mrs. clayton about her big fish. webb was on the board with a few in the box. it is always good to see webb. then you had big joe with his pineapple juice drink, refreshing. there are others that made the day one of the most enjoyable days is some time, and all managed to put fish in the box. as the day went on the heat turned up and a thunder storm loomed just 4 miles offshore of us , but only grazed us with a quick 5 min. shower. as for the fish totals we ended up with 35 or so fluke. the sea bass were few and the ling were few as well. that was the day on the old grounds so we started in around 2:30pm. on the way in the mates do their thing cleaning fish, and washing down the boat. within a few minutes after every thing is clean, and at the mouth of the bay we found a school of blues and had our way with them. in just 20 minutes we put 100 in the box. this made the mate nick happy with joy to see blue fish and spearing all over the boat. over all it was a great time with some great fisherman. even mr. mark rogers got in on the action again. thanks all.
