DAY FISHING

times have been tough. in the last two weeks we have only sailed three times. the weather and low turnout has been the main cause of this. until the action picks up a bit we will be running on firday, saturday, and sunday. if you have a group and would like to fish on any other day just call and we will be glad to take you out. on the day,s that we did get out their was one drum fish caught that tipped the scale around55lb, for this time of year that was nice. the blue fish still have a lock on the bay with fish in the 1 - 2 lb range and a few 3-5 lb fish sneaking in as well. the trout still are lurking around as well. when we are able to anchor up a few manage to make their way back to the table for a tasty meal. the trout are in the 13" to 17" range, and again a few nicer one's mixed in. some medium crokers are around, with the mainstay of croaks in the tiny range, but they make great bait for the trout. last saturday we did get a nice flounder that went 26" ond weighed 7lb, but like the state of n.j. said the season is closed so back it went. mr. willison has been a regular site on sunday's, and anyone that is their when he is around knows his name with out a doubt. on monday the 29 of september we did get to see the uss grasp, the search and rescue ship going up the bay. it is always a treat to one of our fine navy ships coming thru this area. striper season is around the bend. keep checking or call to see when the bite starts.
